ASN, Natavan society and AzIz host literary evening and book christening in Prague
Azerbaijan in 2018 commemorates the 26th anniversary of Khojaly massacre that was perpetrated by Armenian armed forces against Azerbaijani civilian population of Khojaly village on 26 of February 1992 during Karabakh War.
Last Friday a new book entitled “Black Snowdrops and Karabakh Novels” co-authored by Leyla Jafarova, Gunel Anar qizi and Yefim Abramov, from Azerbaijan and Israel respectively was published in Czech language.
1win Azerbaijan Student Network z.s. with a kind support of the embassy of Azerbaijan to Czech Republic took responsibility to organize a literary evening and the novel’s presentation at Marble hall of the Lucerna palace.
Scenic reading of the book by Czech actor Krystof Nohynek was accompanied by young Azerbaijani pianist and student of Jan Deyl conservatory Eva Ashumova.
The head of Union of Azerbaijani Writers Mr. Anar Rzayev and the delegation from Israel headed by Lev Spivak attended the literature evening as honored guests.
Mr. Farid Shafiyev, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic briefed about Khojali Genocide and stressed the importance of holding such literature events for paying tribute to Khojali victims.
Mr. Anar Rzayev informed the Czech audience about the impact of Karabakh conflict on arts and literature in Azerbaijan.
Authors of the book Efim Abramov and Leyla Begim spoken about place of literature in uniting cultures and co-authoring of the book.
Members of diplomatic corps, students and members of Azerbaijani community attended the event.
