The Azerbaijan Student Network (ASN) held the opening ceremony of its representation in Prague, Czech Republic on Friday, 3 May 2013. The ceremony started with an opening speech of Sabir Mammadov, the chief of the representation. Later on, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic, His Excellency Mr. Tahir Tagızade talked about the comprehensive development of the bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan. He emphasized the paramount importance of the ASN representation in Prague and expressed his belief in the development of the relations between the youth of both countries through this organization.
The chairman of the ASN, Nazim Aliyev, on his turn, introduced the ASN´s history and areas of activity to the event participants and revealed his diverse vision about the goals of the organization. The former Deputy Minister of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President of the Diplomatic Academy of Czech Republic, Mr. Cyril Svoboda thanked the ASN for launching such an initiative. He also expressed his assurance that this very event in the future would lead to the closer rapprochement of both countries in such fields as politics and science.
The meeting followed by musical-cultural program was attended not only by some Senators and Members of the Parliament of the Check Republic, but also by representatives of several International Organizations from Azerbaijan and the EU. In general over 100 guests took part in the event.
